The Traitors fans have declared ‘TV is back’ after faithful Kasim complained he was being compared himself to one of the UK’s most prolific serial killers.
After the third episode of the BBC show aired, Harold Shipman was trending on X after an ‘intense’ showdown between Kasim, Joe and Jake.
Kasim was defending himself during the roundtable after he was bafflingly accused of being a traitor because he is a doctor and ‘nice’.
He said: ‘The fact that I have a job is not a reason to vote for me.’
After they protested, Kasim hit back: ‘Literally you just said, “The doctor thing makes sense. You save lives during the day, you kill people at night.”
‘You’re basically calling me Harold Shipman.’

![0430 HEALTH Shipman...File photo of serial killer doctor Harold Shipman (Committed suicide January 2004). Families whose dead relatives were patients of Shipman were Saturday January 6th, 2001, left questioning whether their loved ones were victims of the former GP in the wake of a report claiming those murdered could number 297. Shocked residents in the areas were Shipman practised were coming to terms with the enormity of the report, which found the Greater Manchester GP, convicted last year of murdering 15 female patients, had death rates way in excess of similar doctors. It means he may have murdered one patient for every month of his 24-year career as a family doctor. The report has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions and the police. Shipman was a GP who took the lives of an estimated 250 of his patients over two decades before being caught.
He was sentenced to a whole life term in prison in 2000 before his suicide four years later.
On X, Traitors fans reacted to Kasim’s unexpected reference to Shipman.
@leesjames said: ‘“You’re saving lives during the day and you’re killing people at night” “You’re basically calling me Harold Shipman” Incredible. TV is so back. #TheTraitors.’

@LevelDesignNige commented: ‘Absolutely insane that Harold Shipman is trending as a result of that round table. #TheTraitorsUK #TheTraitors.’
@AJustCause remarked: ‘So basically you are comparing me to Harold Shipman is the line of 2025 so far. A subtle knifing of her prideful sister by Maia but maybe end of her game as she’s never getting banished now. #TheTraitors.’
Echoing their sentiment, @jordanxtyr wrote: ‘Armani getting banished. Comparisons to Harold shipman. Sisters turning on one another. Accusations flying left, right, and centre. That episode was cinematic! #TheTraitors.’
@chiarabeexo added: ‘Omg this show is insane bahhaahhaa #TheTraitors.’

Despite some faithfuls turning on Kasim, he was ultimately spared as they banished Armani. She became the first traitor to leave the competition.
Reflecting on her exit, Armani said: ‘I thought the whole experience was incredible. I was so sure of myself when I was going in there – maybe too sure!
‘As I left, I couldn’t help but think it was great, it was a fun time and I really liked everyone.
‘I was very calm throughout the whole process, a lot more than I thought I would be, I think because I wasn’t a Faithful, I didn’t have the constant nagging in the back of my mind and anxiety about who I could trust.
‘The game is really serious and intense, but it’s also important to just enjoy yourself.’
The Traitors continues on Wednesday from 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
